Frequently Asked Questions
How is JEE Main rank calculated from percentile?
JEE Main rank ≈ Total Candidates × (100 – Percentile) / 100. With 12 lakh candidates, a 95 percentile gives rank ≈ 60,000. An 80 percentile gives rank ≈ 2,40,000. Note: this is an approximation — actual rank depends on normalization across sessions.
What NEET score is needed for government medical college?
For General category in a good state government medical college, you typically need 550+ marks (out of 720) or 85+ percentile in NEET. For AIIMS Delhi, you need 690+ marks. For private medical colleges, 400-500 marks is usually sufficient. Category-wise cutoffs are significantly lower.
Do previous year cutoffs change every year?
Yes, cutoffs vary based on difficulty level, number of candidates, seat changes, and other factors. However, percentile-based cutoffs are relatively stable. Use previous year data as a reference, not an exact predictor. Our tool provides ranges based on historical trends.
